Description
Contracts personnel perform a key role in the Project Team.

They bring together contractual, commercial and technical knowledge in order to provide contractual and commercial guidance to the project team and the wider organisation.


Responsibilities:


  • Organise and maintain logs and files (both in terms of a central database and hard copy filing systems) in a systematic manner to allow for easy access by other department personnel.
  • Post client contract award, management of prequalification and RFQs for high risk contracts under the guidance of the PCM.
  • Lead negotiations and manage low to medium risk contracts. Participate in negotiations and drafting of high risk contracts. Drafting of internal approval sheet and obtaining the various levels of approval for all contracts.
  • Post award subcontract management, drafting and/or review and approval of subcontract notices, amendments, change requests and change orders, warranty claims, and formalization of subcontract closeout. Support procurement re negotiation of purchase order terms and conditions and resolution of claims.

Relationship Responsibilities:


  • Indicate Positions that report directly to this Position. Number of Direct / Indirect Reports. _Leads subordinate commercial / contracts personnel assigned by the Contracts & Commercial Head to operationally report to this Position._
  • Indicate Internal / External Contacts and Purpose of Contacts. (_a) Frequent interaction with and starting to influence internal stakeholders. Leading and starting to shape others in a team environment. (b) Frequent interaction with and starting to influence external stakeholders. Effectively leading engagement with contractors for small to large size (value, risk, complexity) contracts to deliver valueadd._

Requirements:


  • MRICS, MCIArb, SCL is an advantage
  • A high level of comprehension in order to understand and interpret contractual language coupled with an ability to formulate arguments that support the contractual interpretation sought by the company.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Experience:


  • Minimum 12 years relevant experience

Industry and project execution knowledge:


  • A preference for upstream oil and gas experience working for owner and contractor organisations in a project delivery environment.
  • Construction contracts experience
  • An understanding of technical, commercial, contractual and execution risk in a construction contracts environment and the inter relationships and trade offs between each of these aspects
  • Engineering, procurement, fabrication, offshore construction and installation and commissioning
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Understand how a project team is organised and the inter relationship between the various project functions and with corporate legal, insurance and finance groups

Legal and Contractual Knowledge:


  • Understand the basics of the legal system with a focus on common law jurisdictions
  • How laws are made, and rights enforced
  • Understand the law of tort and civil wrongs and the impact on contractual relationships
  • Have a detailed knowledge and understanding of contract law
  • Have a deep understanding of construction law

$2, $7,607.25 per month
