We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
VP, Risk and Control.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensures the First Line of Défense (FLoD) use and embed the HSBC Group's HSBC Risk Management Framework
  • Provide an unbiased and independent assessment on the operating effectiveness of the operating environments within HSBC Life
  • Design, coordinate and execute control monitoring activities based on risk assessment and business priorities
  • Report control monitoring activities and performance data to senior management and committees
  • Oversight of remediation of issues arising from control monitoring activities and incidents
  • Challenge of RCA outputs, particularly the details of key controls
  • Foster Non-Financial Risk awareness culture in HSBC Life
  • Coordinate activities with Non-Financial Risk and Internal Controls Function (Second Line of Defence) and Group Internal Audit (Third Line of Defence)
  • Implement and coordinate control monitoring activities mandated by Group Risk and Control
Requirements


Requirements:

Knowledge

  • Maintain awareness of Non-Financial Risk and minimize the likelihood of its occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting in accordance with the Group requirements
  • Business audit experience would be an advantage
  • Good knowledge & understanding of insurance and products and operations
  • Experienced with working in a global organization as a People manager

  • Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiating skills
  • Excellent decision making and problemsolving ability
  • Strong selfmotivation, with the ability to work independently and under pressure
Qualification

  • University degree in Business Administration, Accountancy, Finance, Risk Management, or a related discipline qualification
  • A minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in financial services industry
