Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is looking for Scaffolding Supervisor to join our team in Singapore.

  • Liaison with others Department Heads, Customers, and the Third Parties on the daily permiting matters.
  • Reviews and assesses Contractor/Subcontractor QA/QC Plans and Procedures including Test/Inspection results.
  • Promotes safety awareness and safe performance among Production group, including Contractor personnel.
  • Witness and monitor Contractor/Subcontractor site surveillance ,risk assessment and method statement compliance to the daily workpermit activities.
  • Overseeing the Development of the scafolding works requirements Systems Integrating with Quality, Occupational Health/Safety and Environmental requirements.
  • Assess the integrity of scafolding works prior to approval for work and conduct the permit validity check on the site scafolding works.
  • Ensure that all construction contractors' supervision and manpower are instructed and comply with all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) policy, site regulations, permit to work procedures and instructions and Client requirements
  • Ensure that contractors working within his discipline adhere strictly to the latest Approved for Construction project drawings, Specifications, ITP's, Procedures and Site Instructions
  • Responsible for the HSES and quality aspects of the work within assigned areas and for ensuring contractors complete their work in accordance with the project schedule
  • Review and monitor the availability of drawings, specifications, job instructions, material deliveries and tools applicable to his / her discipline and area of work
  • Work with the contractors' supervision, planning engineers and the Construction Engineer, develop detailed daily and weekly work plans in accordance with the overall planning and work permitting schedule
  • Inform the Discipline Superintendent on specific areas where the program needs to be adjusted in accordance with site conditions and material deliveries
  • Monitor the discipline and timekeeping of contractors' staff and labor in a defined work area, identifying any disciplinary action required, and informing the relevant Discipline Superintendent
  • Prioritize field execution sequence and resources when conflict arises.
  • Manage available resources well, optimally and demonstrate a high level of resourcefulness.
  • Coordinate all mechanical completion and turnover activities to enable system completion activities scafold requirements

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Experience via assignments or supervisory responsibility in most areas, including field engineering, project control, quality control, administration of contracts and subcontracts, craft supervision, field superintendence, safety, labor relations, maintenance, turnarounds and outages, commissioning and other applicable positions and functions. Knowledge and familiarity with the methods, practices, crafts, tools, equipment, codes, documents, drawings, specifications, requirements, functions and control systems of the engineering and construction business. Overall, a minimum of 10 years' experience in the process and/or utility/power construction industry.

Personal attributes:

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and stand in the office and move about the work area. In addition, it may require close vision work and travel away from home, sometimes for extended periods. The position requires the ability to walk about a construction site or operating plant or power station and the ability to climb stairs or ladders and walk on elevated plant platforms. The position requires the ability to wear and use personal protective equipment while in the work area of the jobsite, including helmet, fall protection harness, respirator, safety glasses/goggles, escape breathing device, noise protection, fireretardant coveralls and protective work boots and gloves.
