Group Legal and Compliance (GLC) supports the Bank in all legal, regulatory and compliance matters.

The division ensures that the Bank's businesses comply with policies, procedures and relevant laws, rules and regulations issued by Monetary Authority of Singapore and other local regulators.

Apart from being a legal advisor on litigation, trademark filings and other legality issues where relevant, GLC plays an important role as undertakers of the bank-wide regulatory compliance and anti-money laundering initiatives.

This includes developing policies and procedures to manage and mitigate risks relating to money laundering and financing of terrorism, as well as monitoring, detection and combating of money laundering and financial crime activities.

Role Summary

The OCBC Data Protection Office (DPO) helps the OCBC Group provide innovative services which create long-lasting value for our customers.

As part of OCBC's bright and nimble Group Legal Department, the DPO provides strategic leadership to promote collective responsibility for data protection.

This role will support our Consumer Financial Services Division.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant / Deputy Data Protection Officer will work on exciting issues that require creative guidance:

Holds him/herself to high ethical standards, embraces technology, and treats personal data with respect and humility.
Manages strategic data protection projects (Data Protection Management Program / Certifications).
Develops data protection frameworks and policies.
Acts as a point of contact with data protection regulators.
Fosters a data protection culture within the bank by delivering ongoing training.
Serves as a key decision maker when managing incidents and regulatory notifications.
Oversees data protection impact assessments and works with stakeholders to implement controls to manage risks to personal data.

Qualifications

A high level of integrity.
Good degree. LLB, BA/BS (information security, computer science or similar field) preferred.
CIPM, CIPP or other data protection certifications preferred.
Some experience in data protection, compliance, information security, auditing or providing legal advice on APAC data protection laws.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Excellent stakeholder communication and management skills, and ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
Agile mindset in embracing use of technology for innovation, and selfawareness of knowledge gaps.
