Responsibilities
- Leading overall UI standards/patterns effort towards a unified design language (with our Creative Director and a program manager)
- Mentoring junior designers & interns
- Helping enforce (with our VP of Design & CD) a robust design quality for our products & concepts, with feedback sessions
- Fostering a culture of "design criticism"
- Evangelizing good design practices / values at crossteam meetings
- Engaging with execs (including the CEO) on design reviews
- Leading or assisting "innovation workshops" with product teams
- Providing the intellectual basis of design discussions (principles, themes, values)
- Engaging with "dysfunctional" products that need a leader to shape a design vision (ie, "firedrills")
- Leading cosponsored projects with academia
- Work closely with stakeholders across multiple product teams to clearly define and prioritize user research questions, then outline and schedule research plans.
- Determine user needs by conducting taskfocused analyses. Must have hands on knowledge of the end to end research process.
- Able to coordinate and prioritize research conducted internally and through external vendors.
- Synthesise and evangelise research findings to diverse audiences through creative and actionable written reports and oral presentations.
- Seek and review potential external research partners and manage existing relationships.
- Stay informed and in tune with the latest developments within User Research methodologies, best practices, trends etc.
- Build upon the existing framework for user research conducted within the bank and the associated metrics to benchmark business impact.
- Play a senior role in the delivery outstanding experiences and results, working collaboratively within a crossdisciplinary team that includes UX, visual design, and content.
- Play a central role in the execution of customer inquiries for a product or experience, helping to conduct sessions, analyze feedback, and identify needs and insights to inform or evolve DBS experience.
- Deliver high fidelity schematics, workflows, interaction storyboards, and design deliverables that guide creative, content, and development efforts.
- Confidently present design decisions to teams and stakeholders, articulating and rationalizing needs against user insights and business goals.
- Contribute to DBS's UX discipline and community, adopting core approaches and tools, helping identify challenges and solutions, and enabling a fertile creative environment.
- Maintain an awareness of industry and UX trends, sharing with peers and the broader community and leveraging them within the design lifecycle
Requirements:
- At least 6+ years of hands on experience in User Research and Usability Testing/Analysis, Interface Design, Interaction Design, or Information Architecture.
- Must be organized, able to work with mínimal supervision, flexible to switch rapidly between different projects and manage them in a timely manner.
- Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to research challenges.
- Working knowledge of datalogging tools such as Morae and Tobii etc.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative data analysis, usability testing, eye tracking, testing across desktop, tablet and mobile interfaces, card sorting, survey evaluation, A/B and multivariate testing, and heuristic evaluations.
- Superior verbal and written presentation skills to communicate clear, concise findings and actionable recommendations to designers, technologists, project managers and executives.
- Experience with financial domains is helpful but not required.
- A strong portfolio or work samples showcasing UX prowess, creativity, and depth of thought
- A clean design aesthetic; an aptitude and honed intuition for tasteful designs that are visually engaging
- A general knowledge of how design impacts engineering and vice versa
- Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex interaction concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
- An experienced doer in one or more of the following creative disciplines: Design Research, Visual Design, Interaction Design
- Passionate and curious about the cultural and socioeconomic changes many Asian markets are going through, and the creative opportunities they present
- Committed to a multidisciplinary, research
- Working knowledge of technology mediums, including a combination of Web 2.0, CSS3, HTML5, mobile OS, etc., including an awareness of the relative strengths and weaknesses of each.
- Awareness of adaptive and responsive techniques (preferably handson)
- Proven ability to work hand in hand
