  • Internal and external stakeholders including partners and beneficiaries

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
:


The Deputy CEO will work closely to assist and support the CEO and Board, and is responsible for providing leadership, developing and implementing ECF's strategic and operational plans; leading on partnership, programmes, marketing and business development; and being an advocate for the charity and its beneficiaries. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring financial control and good governance of the charity.


Leadership

  • Lead, support and motivate staff and engender their commitment to the charity's aims.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with organisations and individuals to promote the charity and facilitate the implementation of its strategic objectives.
  • Instil a culture of professionalism, supported by coaching, training and development.
  • Coordinate with ECF managers to share best practices to achieve the mission.

Strategy

  • Liaise with the CEO and Board on the strategic vision and be responsible for implementation.
  • Responsible for the development and execution of the charity's agreed business plans.
  • Identify and assess strategic risks, issues and opportunities; initiate and lead corresponding changes.

Partnership, Programmes, Marketing and Funding Development

  • Lead the promotion and development of ECF's work, and raise the charity's profile
  • Develop beneficial partnerships with supporters, donors, other charities and all relevant authorities/organisations.
  • Work towards the achievement of longterm sustainability, developing the charity's business model and maximising funding / income.

Operations

  • Lead the implementation of all operational plans.
  • Responsible for administration, finance, IT (via EtonHouse pro bono shared services), fundraising, programmes and partnerships, training, marketing and communications.
  • Ensure that ECF services and projects are delivered to agreed standards.
  • Responsible for the recruitment, management, appraisal and remuneration of staff.

Financial Control, Governance and Compliance

  • Lead the management of finances and resources to ensure regulatory compliance and sustainable growth.
  • Responsible for the financial leadership (including budget) of the charity.
  • Develop and lead on the implementation of the charity's financial plans, formulating income generation strategies and activities
  • Ensure that the charity's overall governance structure, policies and procedures are appropriate and effective.
  • Attend all Board meetings and prepare an advance agenda of each meeting detailing matters of interest.
