Description
Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist with the responsibility of providing a professional and responsive Payroll service to customers both internally and externally, ensuring accurate and timely payment every month, and that corporate governance is strictly adhered to.
- Manage the Payroll in ensuring that all staff are paid accurately, and that payslips, statutory returns and reports are produced and validated in a timely manner
- Undertake daytoday payroll activities to ensure practical knowledge and smooth running of the service, enabling provision of cover on all payrolls
- Validate and reconciliation of post payroll output and the loading of costing files to General Ledger
- Manage all monthly and year end statutory returns
- Work closely with Finance to ensure that processes are align and work effectively
- Liaise with internal and external Auditors, assisting as necessary and providing any required information
- Ensure payroll records are updated in a timely manner by reviewing changes in exemptions, deductions, and department/ division transfers.
- Conduct various payroll reconciliations and troubleshoots any issues that arise.
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures.
- Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
Skills / Qualifications:
- Highly organized, task focused and very meticulous
- Procedure knowledge in extensive payroll experience and very process oriented with the ability to put in good controls for the entire endtoend process
- Technological skills required include experience and strong in IT systems and payroll software
- Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Management
- Excellent time management and planning skills
- Excellent numerical and communication skills
