Founded in 1987, SGIFF is the largest and longest-running film event in Singapore.

It has become an iconic event in the local arts calendar that is widely attended by international film critics, and known for its dynamic programming and focus on groundbreaking Asian cinema for Singapore and the region.

Committed to nurturing and championing local and regional talent, its competition component, the Silver Screen Awards, brings together emerging filmmakers from Asia and Southeast Asia while paying tribute to acclaimed cinema legends.

With its mentorship programmes, masterclasses and dialogues with attending filmmakers, the Festival also serves as a catalyst for igniting public interest, artistic dialogue, and cultural exchanges in the art of filmmaking.

The SGIFF is organised by the Singapore International Film Festival Ltd, a non-profit organisation with Institution of Public Character (IPC) status.

We are seeking for suitably qualified individuals for the following project/contract positions for SGIFF 2024:


Job Scope:
Hospitality


  • Assist the Hospitality team in the travel arrangements of visiting filmmakers & guests, which includes following up on flights & accommodations.
  • Assist the Hospitality team in the preparation of daily itineraries, organising social events (online and/or physical) and coordination of local ground transportation.
  • Assist the Hospitality team with coordinating SGIFF volunteers on airport transfers, events transportation, and any other hospitality arrangements for visiting filmmakers and guests.
  • Assist the Hospitality team with liaising and coordinating guests' complimentary tickets and event invites.
  • Assist the Hospitality team in managing the running of the Festival Lounge, including the social and networking activities as well as support the execution of these activities.

Job Scope:
Events


  • Assist the Hospitality and Programme team with organising, managing and executing a broad range of events (networking, seminars, conference, occasions, etc)
  • Assist the Hospitality team to provide onsite support if needed
  • Any other duties assigned

Requirements:


  • At least GCE "A" Levels or Diploma in Hospitality, Marketing, Arts Management and Media. Currently enrolled students are welcome to apply
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.
  • Driven, proactive, able to work independently and yet a good team player.
  • Responsible, calm, organized and able to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and good problemsolving skills.
  • Proficient in Google Docs/Sheets/Excel
  • Ability to multitask and react swiftly to changes in a fast paced environment
  • Exposure and knowledge of online video conferencing platforms would be an advantage
  • Interest in film and/or the arts.

Period of Engagement
:
August to 20 Dec 2024

Ideally, currently enrolled students must be able to commit at least 20 hours weekly from August to September and full-time from October onwards till the end of the Festival.

Currently enrolled students should be prepared to work full time during their school breaks.

SGIFF currently has a hybrid working policy in place with time split between the office and working from home.

Closer to the festival dates and various events, more time will be required at the SGIFF office or at various venues.
