About the Role:


Reporting to the Regional S&OP Manager, the Regional Demand planner plays a crucial role in achieving a balance between supply and demand, optimising inventory and ensuring customer satisfaction while contributing to the overall efficiency and profitability of the company.


The role will be responsible for partnering with regional Supply Chain Operations, Sales & Marketing, Commercial and all other relevant functions to develop and facilitate the demand planning processes and grow the level of planning maturity in the APAC region.


Additionally, the role is responsible for supporting the business with the implementation of key strategic projects by leading and representing the APAC region, this is anticipated to be an ongoing area of development and opportunity, as the Olympus business looks to harmonize best practice approaches both regionally and globally to drive operational excellence.

In this regard working in strong partnership with stakeholders is critical for success.


Key Accountabilities

  • Maintain a rolling forecast of demand from external customers for the full planning horizon (0 to 36 months or as per functional planning guidelines).
  • Support Sales & Marketing teams in estimating impact of commercial activities (promotions, launches, etc.) on future demand.
  • Challenge Sales & Marketing teams on maintaining a factbased translation of commercial assumptions into future demand.
  • Facilitate the comparison of an assumptionbased demand forecast with relevant financial targets in order to identify risks and opportunities and trigger gap closing actions.
  • Bring assumptions and latest demand plan into the Demand Review and IBP to reach crossfunctional consensus.
  • Monitor latest demand trend against relevant consensus demand plan to support resolution of demand/supply imbalance in the short horizon (S&OE process).
  • Support the demand constraining process in the event of supply shortages.
  • Work with the regional SCM team to monitor inventory health and undertake actions to address key concerns with the relevant stakeholders.
  • Consolidate sales forecast from all sales units, review and prepare purchase forecast for submission to respective MBC quarterly.
  • Build and continuously improve the demand planning process to maintain a consensus demand forecast.
  • Actively seek process improvement based on internal functional guidelines and on external good practices.
  • Foster a climate of crossfunctional collaboration, build rapport with and maintain strong collaboration with Sales & Marketing.
  • Define and implement continuous improvement opportunities within supply chain.
  • Maintain a develop awareness of best practices and tools for process analysis, mapping, and redesign.
  • Analysis and mapping of undocumented processes and embedding historical knowledge where required.
  • Take ownership and make regular proactive contribution to the completion of new operational procedures and work flows relevant to Supply-Chain Planning business interactions.

What we are looking for:

You will consider yourself to be a proactive, achievement-orientated and a determined individual with:

  • Tertiary education from a recognised institute, preferably in Supply Chain Management.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in demand planning and material management.
  • Strong knowledge of demand planning practice, methodology and principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skill.
  • A good team player and possess leadership quality.
  • Proactive, meticulous, and analytical.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
  • Capacity to learn and adapt to change.
  • Experienced in some level of change management.
