Manager / Native Plant Centre (9-month Contract) - Singapore - National Parks Board
Description
What the role is
You will assist in Native Plant Centre's work including plant propagation, documentation of plant growth and management of plant inventory.
What you will be working on
- Plant propagation techniques for Species Recovery Programme
- Experimental propagation, monitoring and documentation of native stock plants from seeds, cuttings and grafting
- Collection of plant material from nature areas of Singapore for identification and propagation
- Manage plant inventory and issuance at the Native Plant Centre
What we are looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, or related disciplines
- Keen interest in nursery work, field work and plant identification; Experience and skills in these areas will be a strong advantage
- Strong interest in the flora of Singapore and conservation
- Able to work independently and multitask in performing a diverse range of duties
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and writing skills
- Willing to work after office hours and during weekends and public holidays when required
- Singapore Class 3 driving license will be an advantage
