Purpose of the Role:


The Transaction Banking Liquidity Portfolio Management Associate has responsibility, along with the Director, for driving liquidity products and strategy across APAC.


This position will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with country teams to grow quality CASA balances
  • Interest pricing policy and ongoing monitoring of interest levels at portfolio and client level
  • Actively assisting countries in the handling of various interest rate movements (Beta/Lag strategy)
  • Work closely with country teams to commercialise existing deposit and liquidity management offerings to help corporate treasury's to optimise their working capital
  • Provision of forecasts, insights and trends around total and operational balances, Net Interest Margins and competitor pricing levels, to ALCO and other TB ExCo forums.
Primary Responsibilities

Strategic

Work with the Director, Liquidity Portfolio Management to:

  • Ensure optimal product mix of TDs, Current Accounts, CNDA and ESG deposits and identify products to mitigate any gaps.
  • Develop TB's deposit pricing and rate management strategy, improved deposit quality, better forecasting accuracy, enhanced controls, and stronger collaboration between Markets, Coverage and TB Sales.
  • Provide guidance to Coverage and other stakeholder on important market events (example rate increases).
  • Track and measure performance of rate decisions, including flow of funds and balance rotation.
Financial and Performance Reporting

  • Support the design, implementation, analysis, and renewal of key performance indicators and deposit analytics:
  • Weighted average pricing on a portfolio basis.
  • Comprehensive deposit drivers and forecasts including deposit behaviour, to provide senior managers with databased business intelligence and insight.
  • Coordinate deposit and liquidity information gathering for use as management information in key committees and forums, including with senior management.
  • Act as a key liaison point regarding deposit portfolio performance and coordinate the alignment of Treasury and Finance stakeholders in APAC;
  • Identify and indicate leading and lagging key performance indicators such as deposit rates, weighted average interest rates, net interest margins, and funds transfer price
Customer

  • Develop and maintain strong stakeholder management with key stakeholders both externally and within MUFG including:
  • Colleagues across the region to deliver an integrated service for our customers.
  • Transaction Banking Sales to understand the customer's product requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Work in partnership with various departments in the Bank to support delivering seamless transactions to the customer. Departments including but not limited to Operations, Credit and Planning.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in finance or Banking Field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Corporate Banking
  • Experience in Excel and Qlik sense, and PowerPoint, Tableau, VBA
  • Treasury, pricing and data analytics experience
  • Business acumen and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and sell ideas
  • Strong stakeholder management skills to collaborate with other departments
