Overview:

Element has an opportunity for an

Associate Chemist for testing, sample preparation and delivery/collection of samples and preparation of test reports.

This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform testing of environmental samples such as water, soil, plastic, food etc.
Perform chemical analysis using wet chemistry methods and analytical instruments including IC, ICPMS/ICPOES, GC-MS, C/N Analyzer, TOC etc.

  • Perform reagents preparation and standardization of standards prepared
  • Involve in QA/QC of test and analytical instruments
  • Ensure all laboratory documents are in a constant state of regulatory compliance and inspection readiness
  • Ensure chemicals and consumables availability and request for replenishment when necessary
  • Ensure equipment and testing meets the requirement of ISO/IEC 1702
  • Perform sampling & on site testing when required
  • Maintain 5S & Safety in Laboratory
  • Other ad hoc activities assigned

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Diploma related to chemistry / equivalent course and proven similar experience in Environmental testing lab for at least 1 year, ideally in commercial testing lab with SAC SINGLAS accreditation
  • Team player with initiative and good communication skills and dedicated in responsibilities
  • Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory
