Job Description Summary:
This role will be responsible for leading and coordinating the technical modeling of engine and services proposals.

In the role, you will work across multiple engine Product Lines and the Sales Deal Factory to provide technical modeling of new deal proposals for Customized Service Agreements (CSAs) $/hr maintenance agreements, long-term Time & Material shop visit forecasts, and service related guarantees, primarily in support of the Asia Pacific Sales Region.

Preparation of proposals/bids, contract negotiation and compliance with proposal requirements and technical risk assessment. Will operate with significant autonomy governed by policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for technical analysis and oversight of the New Deal Proposals and final delivery to deal factory on time. This includes both new contract and restructuring of signed contracts which have not entered into an annual recurring actualization process (Contract Margin Review).
  • Work within global team to meet Deal Proposal Timelines / Requirements providing clarification of any issues, missing information and bring team members to consensus.
  • Communicate and provide feedback to the New Deal Technical Modeling Team on presentations, training, tools, SOP's, process and correct with owners as needed
  • Be able to step in and support across product lines in order to look after the broader GE Aviation Services objectives
  • Provide guidance to the broader commercial team on technical modeling considerations in developing individual CSA deal strategy.
  • Empower and inspire the broader Global New Deal Technical Proposal Team engaging and stepping in to provide leadership and technical support as needed
  • Support customer negotiations and engagements to develop and model customized services products to meet unique Customer needs
  • Collaborate with product line, finance, marketing and services commercial teams to support market forecasts, new product introduction and product strategy studies and services portfolio refresh for contracts that have not yet entered the annual recurring actualization process
  • Use judgment, logical thinking and analytical skills to identify key causes of forecasted maintenance cost and propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, daytoday problems with projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, or customers.
  • Ability to prioritize information for decision making. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues in the deal factory with different or less experience.
  • Lead improvement or lean projects with limited oversight and resources.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering degree from an accredited university or college
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an aerospace, turbomachinery or mechanical engineering position.

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with modeling and configuring tools such as shop visit forecasting, fleet modeling, Contract Margin Review or new deal proposal modeling experience
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to concisely summarize results, presenting executive summaries of complex technical analysis to a nontechnical audience, concisely identifying the most critical results
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to guide and influence others
  • A desire to utilize technical foundation to expand into a commercial or sales space
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an engineering or modeling role
  • Experience in or worked closely in any of the following areas: engine systems design, fleet model engineering, turbomachinery performance engineering, aircraft performance, customer technology programs, field service engineering, product support, engine overhaul or turbomachinery repair shop experience
  • Prior experience or working with support of sales in turbomachinery and services, knowledge of related products, services and markets
  • Creativity ability to solve problems and propose new solutions
  • Collaborate well with multiple stakeholders. Listen and build solutions together
  • High degree of adaptability; ability to excel in a dynamic, fastpaced environment
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the year in support of sales campaigns, team meetings, and conferences
  • Project management experience

  • Basic coding and digital technology experience
  • Demonstrated financial acumen related to prices, costs and margins
