We are currently recruiting for a Marine Technical Specialist for Container Vessels to join our Fleet Management team. The candidate must be an enthusiastic, proactive and motivated individual with real passion for accounting. He/she will need to work closely with different business segments to ensure the successful delivery of our services.
JOB OUTLINE
Candidate is responsible to ensure that the project management and service delivery to our group companies are in compliance with NYK Group Credo and business policies. He/she reports to the Logistics and Container Trade Coordination Group in Tokyo HQ and carry out supporting functions of the division. He/she must ensure timely and accurate response to customer's request, and liaise with each stakeholder (internal/external) for smooth coordination for all transactions.
Title: Marine Technical Specialist for Container Vessels
Position level: Assistant Technical Manager (ATM), Fleet Management Division.
Appointment: Replacement role
Job type: Permanent full time
Minimum experience: At least 3 years and above onboard experience as an Engineer
Working days: Mondays to Fridays (Saturdays and Sundays if vessel attendance is required)
Working hours: 8.30am to 5.00pm
Qualifications: Diploma / Degree in Maritime or relevant discipline, hold a 1st or 2nd class license as Maritime Officer (Engineering)
Salary: SGD$8,000 to SGD$16,000 depending on experience

Your duties essential for the job:
· Maintain ship quality for owned and chartered vessels.
· Ship-cost and budgeting for vessel control.
· Vessel performance analysis.
· Evaluate internal and external ship management companies.
· Communicate with ship owners in Singapore and Japan.
· Communicate with charterers in Singapore.
· Communicate with Japanese companies for modification or retrofit work.
· Handle and report vessel incident and general matters to Tokyo HQ.
· Any other duties related to this role.
Basic requirements:
· At least 3 years of onboard experience as an Engineer (main engine power above 3,000kW ).
· Preferably with mechanical engineering background to succeed in this role.
· Strong experience and knowledge in vessel operations and dry dock.
· Additional knowledge in cargo operations and charter party is an added advantage.
· Basic knowledge of accounting in Profit/Loss, Balance Sheet, etc.
· Bilingual and writing skills in English and Japanese to liaise with Japanese customers and associates.
· Possess a minimum JPLT1 cert in Japanese language proficiency.
· Attentive to details.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively.
· Positive attitude and ability to work under stress.
· A team player and willing to take ownership of an opportunity and hands on every aspect of the job.
· Punctuality and good attendance is a MUST.
