THE ROLE

Key responsibilities:

Promote FIS as a company; providing market intelligence and analysis to clients
Maintain and enhance existing client relationships, making regular contact and tracking daily trading activities
Drive revenue and develop and enhance client base
Understand the team's business strategy and identify new business opportunities relating to trends, future markets, products and clients
Undertake market analysis, providing market insight and trade ideas to clients
Responsible for daily price discovery, dissemination and matching
Create and write daily market reports as required
Identify and introduce new clients to the market and maintain professional relationships
Perform any other reasonable duties the company may require

Risk related responsibilities

Support a risk and compliance aware culture and comply with FIS company policies
Ensure full awareness of and adhere to internal policies that relate to the role or any relevant other activities

Training

Seek regular feedback from Desk Head to ensure role requirements are met
Complete any mandatory training required by the company and required deadlines
Maintain own Continued Professional Development (CPD)

Key competencies / skills:

Demonstrate successful track record of Dry Cargo shipbroking
Strong client focus; personable and engaging building relationships and networks wherever possible
Good understanding of Dry Cargo markets essential
Experience in Handymax / Supramax or Panamax vessels essential
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues combined with excellent negotiation skills
Tenacious and thrives in a pressurised environment
Naturally team oriented; works well with others and diverse groups / personalities
Excellent attention to detail; strong analytical and numeracy skills
Travel and attending client social events
