Description
The E-Solutions Business Development Manager is responsible for eSolutions revenue growth through the expansion and optimization of Thermo Fisher Scientific's digital capabilities - including eProcurement (B2B), dealer portal, supply center, etc.
within the assigned corporate accounts and geographic area.
They will interface and partner at all levels with the customer including C-level, CFOs, Strategic Sourcing, Commodity Managers, Category Directors, Materials Management, Procurement and Contracts Directors, Deans of Finance, Budget Administration, along with purchasing agents, PIs, and lab managers.
- Partner with commercial leaders on Go-ToMarket (GTM) approach, educate sales team and support customer discussions on digital offerings
- Support eSolutions and digital commerce leadership by identifying and evaluating new business opportunities that fit with the overall digital solutions strategy.
- In collaboration with corporate ebusiness team members, develop and drive SEA B2B strategy for customer B2B service offerings to deliver high customer value and support overall APJ digital solutions growth.
- Codevelop marketing and merchandizing strategy and plan with key partners including eBusiness, Market Development and Regional Marketing.
- Build and implement marketing programs to drive incremental growth.
- Possess a deep understanding of customer accounts with the ability to develop trusted and valued relationships with major decision makers, clarify goals, and reach agreements that support commercial leadership.
- Benchmark internal B2B capabilities to industry practices and trends aligned with business objectives and customer needs
- Analyze global eSolutions programs, including business, industry, and competitor trends.
- Partner with the Digital Marketing, IT, eSolutions and eBusiness product management team to develop and deliver digital products to support commercial strategies.
- Partner closely with the Data Science function to ensure alignment to initiatives which support and grow our digital engagement and improve outcomes for our customers.
- Provide robust monthly and quarterly metrics to forecast eSolutions opportunities and performance regularly and accurately
- Any other related tasks which are deemed relevant to the role
Requirements:
- A minimum B.Sc. degree in a scientific or business field required.
- 5+ years' experience in Digital and eCommerce (Sales and/or Marketing) required
- Experience in industry, academia, clinical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology research or laboratory sales.
- Substantiated capability to effectively negotiate and close business with channel partners across multiple levels
- Possess outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to maintain and promote diplomacy to arrive at mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Experience developing relationships with multiple customer functions including R&D endusers and leadership, Procurement and Finance.
- Proven ability to operate independently, with initiative, and good business judgment.
- Technical and working knowledge of vendor managed onsite inventory programs
- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, proactive approach
- Technical and working knowledge of customer procurement systems and practices including B2B, B2C, etc.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment with tight project timelines.
- Willingness and ability travel at least 25%, when required.
