Group Legal, Compliance & Secretariat ensures that the bank's interests are protected by zealously guarding and enhancing its reputation and capital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, advisory, transactional and commercial support on the legal and local regulatory requirements related to T&O in Singapore, and the Bank's overseas markets as part of Head Office function.
  • Support functions in developing and managing legal and compliance risks related to new initiatives, sourcing and outsourcing arrangements.
  • Advise on financial regulations and its impact on group operational matters.
  • Handle crossborder contractual negotiations and contribute to the drafting of commercial tenders, evaluation and assessment of supplier responses.
  • Manage contentious matters related to T&O from a regional perspective.

Requirements:


  • A qualified lawyer with a solid academic and training background.
  • 10 years of PQE in financial or general commercial practice groups in a high caliber law firm or inhouse legal role of a financial institution.
  • Working understanding of financial regulations in Singapore and its impact on operational matters. Experience in litigation/disputes handling will be useful.
  • A strong team player who thrives in a collaborative working environment.
  • Demonstrates commercialmindedness, initiative and adds value when advising on legal and regulatory risk management issues.
  • Ability to succinctly communicate advice on complex matters to enable stakeholders and colleagues to easily understand the core legal, regulatory risks and issues they need to manage.
