What the role is

You would play a key role in the digitalisation journey of the Singapore City Gallery by harnessing IT and emerging technologies such as AI and ChatGPT to improve visitor experience, content delivery and operational efficiency. A key deliverable is to review and implement best practices in show ware archival to raise the standard of the Gallery's asset and knowledge management system.

What you will be working on

As a member of the gallery revamp team, you would be deeply involved in content research and exhibit development. This requires working with counterparts across different ministries and institutions including the National Archives and National Library Board, to gather input and research materials required for developing the new exhibits. Good writing skills and understanding of what makes for effective use of text and visuals for storytelling on exhibit panels, multimedia interactives and group interactives will be essential.

What we are looking for

Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Museum Studies or a related field
At least three to five years of experience in managing AV/IT systems, preferably in a gallery or museum setting
Familiarity with technology platforms and software used in a permanent gallery setting, including that for multimedia installations and interactive exhibits
Strong exhibit literacy; what makes for effective use of text, image and videos for exhibits
Creative thinker with a keen interest in emerging technologies and how they can be applied to improve visitor experience in a gallery setting
Prior experience in the tourism sector, with a good understanding of what makes a good story an advantage
Excellent research skills; able to collate, analyse and present data well
Strong communications and problem solving skills
Good project management skills
Team player who is comfortable working with counterparts across different organisations
Familiarity with Singapore's urban development history and plans an advantage
