Senior Lead, Research


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the Head RAEI to drive applied research within MINDS and in the sector by planning, carrying out and delivering applied research projects within the aims and action plan of MI.
  • Work directly with Allied Health practitioners, educators, operational service delivery staff and caregivers to build applied research capacity within MINDS and in the sector by providing support (such as mentoring or coaching) to generate research ideas, delivering research projects and utilising evidencebased practice to improve the quality of life of persons with intellectual disabilities.
  • Manage and lead applied research teams consisting of AHPs, training officers and teachers, where appropriate.
  • Coordinate/manage applied research projects undertaken by MINDS staff and/or external stakeholders with the aim of coproducing conference papers, journal publications, position papers and policy/practice briefs.
  • To collaborate with the relevant departmental managers, principals or MINDS directors to drive evidence based practice in services and programmes
  • To undertake clinical practice and education where appropriate and necessary and as guided by the Head RAEI.
  • To manage service/programme outcomes evaluation projects as well as evidencebased and contemporary clinical practice and service delivery at the local level, and as directed by the Head RAEI.
  • Manage the timely and effective delivery of KPIs and milestones of research grants received.
  • Represent MINDS at appropriate forums and events at sector, national and international levels to inform policy and bestpractice in service delivery as well as ID research through conference presentations
  • Lead the development and management of research collaterals and outreach materials.
  • Oversee inventory management processes in the functional areas of research.
  • Manage the delivery of research output for each research project undertaken by translating the research findings into technical reports/journal publications/policy papers/practice briefs/position papers for MINDS in areas relevant to applied research evidencebased practice as well as larger stakeholder needssensing studies and gaps/trends analysis.
  • Oversee the smooth development and delivery of research and analytics projects undertaken within MI.
  • Plan and manage the shortterm development targets and competency building for research and analytics executives.
  • Carry out induction and clinical orientation for new team members
  • Plan and manage professional development courses of research and analytics executives

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a Bachelors degree in research/data science/statistics or relevant allied health discipline (e.g. Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Nursing or other relevant social services professions) from a university that is recognized by the relevant local registration body (e.g. SPS, SAC, SASW, SAOT). An applied postgraduate qualification with both practice and research components would be advantageous.

OTHER INFORMATION

  • A minimum of 6 years of working experience in the field of disability and/or social services sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in applied research and data analytics.
  • Relevant experience in areas of both applied research and practice in the field of disability.
  • High level of written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders (e.g. teachers, training officers, AHPs and management)
  • Experience in writing journal papers, technical reports, position papers and practice briefs with mínimal guidance (Track record of publications is highly valued)
  • Experience in preparing for and delivering conference presentations.
  • Demonstrated capacity to supervise, train and mentor in both practice and research.
