About the role


You will play a key role in developing the three main business arms of SMC - Training, Registry (mediation, adjudication, neutral evaluation) and Online Dispute Resolution.

You will lead a team, and ensure it collectively achieves agreed targets in all three areas. You will also oversee corporate functions such Stakeholder Management and Corporate Governance.

You will play a leading role in improving business efficiency, increasing revenue and spearheading SMC's quest to be the pre-eminent dispute resolution centre in the region.


Responsibilities

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • Formulate business development strategies and plans, including building a network of contacts to attract new clients, research new market opportunities, and oversee new growth projects. This includes the development of new products/services for SMC.
  • Implement SMC's premier outreach event, the Singapore Mediation Lecture and develop its reputation and impact.
  • Recommend new initiatives to increase awareness of alternative dispute resolution and the premier role SMC plays in that space.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

  • Formulate and execute stakeholder engagement plans for SMC, to nurture and maintain relationships with stakeholders and engage them to provide strategic advice to SMC's projects.
  • Ensure seamless delivery of stakeholder engagement plans as well as projects like newsletters, seminars, publications and engagement sessions.

TRAINING

  • Stay uptodate with industry trends and best practices and work with the training team and SMC consultants to develop, expand and enhance the Training division's array of courses and modules.
  • Develop strategies to increase the appeal and takeup of existing and new training courses

ODR

  • Work with SMC's technology partner to take SMC's online dispute resolution capabilities from pilot stage to broader deployment. Work closely with all users of the
    ODR system to constantly improve user experience.
  • Formulate a plan to enhance SMC's online capabilities, allowing for ease of adaptation to attract a broader customer base. This includes promoting and marketing current/future
    ODR platforms as an additional source of revenue for SMC.

GOVERNANCE

  • Oversee SMC's Corporate Governance work.
In addition, you will take on any other duties as assigned by CE SMC from time to time.
