About the role: 2 year contract

  • Prepare technical proposal and assist in commercial tender (e.g. Defining scope and estimating manpower, time, cost, and material requirements)
  • Perform technical risk analysis and propose possible mitigation of such risks
  • Be fully aware of contract scope and technical/commercial requirements, in so far they affect piping or other technical issues, and ensure they are incorporated into piping design
  • Be familiar with international piping design codes and standards, piping material codes and standards; ensure the design meets code, regulatory, class, customer, and/or corporate requirements
  • Be competent in the use and/or maintenance of design software tools and programs, create/maintain database, as needed
  • Prepare piping and equipment layout design drawings, in 2d and/or 3d
  • Prepare piping isometrics and BOM (bill of materials)
  • Coordinate and check piping interface with mechanical (equipment), instrument, and steel structure, as well as interface with customer tieins.
  • Prepare the project piping specifications
  • Prepare pfd (process flow diagrams), pid (piping & instrument diagrams), and equipment outline sketches, plot plan/ layout, and participate in hazop reviews.
  • Prepare technical specifications of pipingrelated components, such as sight glass, steam trap, strainer, etc.
  • Prepare any other document or specification (e.g. Painting, insulation, stress analysis, etc.) As may be required for basic engineering or a complete skid plant
  • Check/review other engineers' piping designs
  • Prepare/maintain document list of piping design documents, if need
  • Provide recommendations for purchase of piping, piping (inline) components/systems; procure small parts for site rectification works, if needed
  • Familiarize with the piping installation process and sequence of work in skids
  • Attend inspection witness (at fat/sat), if necessary; and/or check receipt of piping items delivered quantity and specification, in accordance with purchase order to vendor/supplier
  • Perform subcontracting to 3rd parties piping works (including defining the scope of work and supply); assist in painting and insulation subcontracting, when needed
  • Establish fat, sat, and commissioning procedures (for piping systems), where necessary
  • Reporting and documentation (e.g. Fat test report, sat, punchlist report) and followup
  • Field work to verify conditions and/or to supervise/support site installation of piping and piping components.
  • Provide startup and commissioning support
  • Establish technical competence, expertise, and current knowledge of new and innovative techniques in the piping engineering field; propose/plan own training where necessary, including in nontechnical fields, if needed
  • Reporting to superior, or project manager, on workload, manhour usage, project status, or as required; and perform duties as assigned
  • Assign work within the Piping team; manage and report workload in the team
  • Lead any 3Dmodel piping review meeting
  • Establish/maintain/improve piping design procedures, guidelines, standards, and templates for use by the department
  • Provide onthejob guidance and supervision to employees for piping designrelated issues, including attending meetings with them; including employees in other countries (e.g. China)
  • Monitor project execution by employees through all steps and periods of the project, from handover till startup of the plant Plan and propose own and employee training, in both technical and jobrelated skills, as well as in own managerial, supervisory or administrative skills.

About you:


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 20 years working experience in the Petrochemical and Refinery Field preferred.
  • Experience in FEED and Detail Design
  • A strong customer service attitude.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills, for developing and implementing solutions to problems with assigned projects.
  • Ability to interpret customer requirements and design separation equipment.
  • Good foundation in mechanical engineering.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Can work well with Others in a Team.
