SG Financial Market Middle Office Apprenticeship Programme


Recent Polytechnic Graduates who join the SG FM Middle Office Apprenticeship Programme will go through a 12-month learning and development journey across various SG FM Middle Office functions.

During this learning journey, you will embark on two 6-months rotations. You will be exposed to different projects and tasks, alongside structured trainings, mentorship and on-the-job learning.

Financial Markets Middle Office provides value added services to the global FM business across US, Europe and Asia.


Collectively we:

Enable: We contribute to increased Sales & Trading productivity through effective trade and post trade operational support. We are trusted advisors for the business and take responsibilities for front to back trade exception management and resolution

Protect: We are responsible or the correct risk representation at point of capture and throughout the trade lifecycle. We are product specialists and ensure new products and new business opportunities are effectively operationalized

Improve: We adopt a continuous improvements mindset and strive to reduce Cost per Transaction through continuously challenging the status quo. We focus on Trade Capture STP improvement to mitigate fraud and operational risk and deliver scalable services back to the business.

Connect: We are accountable and responsible for all T0 activities and act as a conduit between Front Office and the other enablement ad operation teams. We act as a Global Team and communicate clearly and with respect in line with SCB values

Responsible for running data analysis tools working with the Middle Office Product Leads to clean, change and process raw data and extracting actionable, relevant information that helps the business make informed decisions.


Risk Management
Operate as a first line of defence for the FM Front Office in their daily operations.

Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework, in which the Group operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role.

Other Responsibilities

  • Understanding of trade capture, trade lifecycle, trade controls, other daytoday processing activities
  • Understanding of technical aspects within trade processing systems, regulatory risk and controls compliance management, and other risk escalation processes
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and solutioning new initiatives to enhance relevant work processes for effectiveness and efficiency purposes across the global Middle Office
  • Promote and foster an environment where prioritisation, deadline management, streamlined data workflows, proper data governance, and other collaborative data practices are enforced
  • Work closely with the Middle Office Leadership Team to analyse and develop key insights and metrics for highlevel decision making relevant to well managed business and cost optimisation
  • Preparation of internal communication collaterals such as newsletters and slide decks for risk and governance forums
  • Graduated with a Polytechnic Diploma with less than 2 years of working experience
  • Have the permanent legal right to work in Singapore
  • Keen interest in Banking and Finance industry
  • Processes excellent interpersonal skills, multicultural awareness and sensitivity
