Responsibilities
- Prepare microbiological media in accordance to the in
- Management of samples for testing and retention.
- Perform microbiological testing in accordance to the approved procedure both for finished products and raw materials.
- Perform in house QC testing such as water testing, detergent residue testing, toxicity testing, etc
- Perform calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
- Perform environmental monitoring such as swabbing and air sampling.
- Ensure that specified procedures and guidelines are followed for the completion of all sample registration work. This includes unpacking and checking, temperature verification, correct storage and preparation of samples for dispatch to the various departments within the laboratory.
- Ensure that the filing/archiving system is maintained and files are archived on a regular basis.
- Reporting all customer complaints and concerns to the Microbiology Team Leader immediately and help resolve as directed.
- Ensure SOP are adhered to
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area
- Actively participate in internal and external audits
- Participate and contribute to health and safety continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Possess minimum Diploma in Chemistry / Food Science or related discipline
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in food testing laboratories.
- Possess work experience in similar or within an accreditation/ certification industry will be an advantage
- Ability to work in fastpaced environment and team player
