Description
Greeting and Seating Customers:
Welcome customers as they arrive at the restaurant.
Assist in seating customers, taking into consideration their preferences and the availability of tables.
Provide menus and answer any initial questions customers may have.
- Taking Orders:Approach the table promptly to take food and beverage orders from customers.
Ensure accurate and complete order taking, noting any specific requests or modifications.
Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff promptly.
- Serving Food and Beverages:Deliver orders to customers' tables accurately and efficiently.
Serve additional items such as condiments, napkins, and utensils as needed.
Check back with customers to ensure their satisfaction and address any issues or requests promptly.
- Knowledge of Menu and Specials:Be wellversed in the restaurant's menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary considerations.
Provide detailed descriptions of menu items to customers and answer questions about ingredients or allergens.
- Upselling and Recommending:Utilize suggestive selling techniques to upsell menu items, such as appetizers, desserts, or specialty drinks.
Encourage customers to try new or popular items on the menu.
- Handling Payments and Operating POS System:Present customers with accurate bills and process payments promptly.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently to process orders and payments accurately.
- Table Maintenance:Keep the dining area clean and wellorganized throughout the shift.
Set up tables with utensils, glassware, and other necessary items before customers are seated.
- Teamwork and Communication:Collaborate with kitchen staff and other servers to ensure smooth operations.
Assist colleagues when necessary, such as helping with food running or refilling drinks.
- Knowledge of Safety and Hygiene:Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
Handle and serve food and beverages following proper safety protocols.
- Handling Customer Concerns:Address any customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.
Provide refunds or discounts when appropriate, following restaurant policies.
