Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood currently has an opportunity for a position of Site Material Controller to join our Supply Chain Group at our Construction Projects Sites in Singapore.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, Supply Chain and Construction.

Also, working alongside other members at Construction Site you will have the opportunity to provide support on one of our major projects.

  • Establishing the flow and assigning duties to facilitate the project Material Management process
  • Establishing warehouse and laydown plans as required
  • Determining the warehouse and laydown yard facility requirements and area needed for inside and outside storage of materials and equipment
  • Prepare storage areas and arrange for the necessary material handling equipment as well as implementing the proper receiving, inventory management, storage, maintenance, and dispersion of materials and equipment required to execute the project
  • Monitoring the progress of incoming material shipments and notify management and construction personnel of potential inventory shortages
  • Planning and coordinating required materials and their availability with the Construction Planner/Material Requestor
  • Receiving and actioning a Material Issue Request from the requestor
  • Creating Material Issue Requests in the approved Materials Management system as required
  • Managing Material Handling personnel
  • Recording the material issuance transaction and filing the hardcopy paperwork and signature authorizations
  • Managing the distribution or staging of materials to contractors or construction at the job site
  • Maintaining the inventory records in the Materials Management database and providing reporting as required to satisfy the project Material Management plan reporting requirements
  • Resolving any issues/conflicts during the execution of Material Management plan and notifying the unresolved issues to the responsible parties for resolution
  • Implementing the detailed project procedure for protection, preservation and preventive maintenance of materials and equipment received into inventory and stored until they are issued for delivery to construction or Material Requestor
  • Monitoring the system for maintaining preservation and preventive maintenance records for stored equipment and materials until they are issued from the warehouse
  • Coordinating all required activities for the preventive maintenance and preservation of equipment/materials with Material Handler, Inspection team, Subcontractors and Suppliers/Manufacturers
  • For Wood projects tasked to "Self-Perform" the preventive maintenance of equipment and materials, the Material Controller maintains a system for scheduling and reporting the status of preservation and preventative maintenance activities of equipment and materials in storage
  • Ensuring that the Material Handlers are knowledgeable of this procedure and work instructions and are fully compliant with it when Wood is selfperforming preservation and maintenance

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of Site Material Control experience on a Construction environment
  • Good understanding of forwarding, customs clearing and shipping principles, permits, logistic management and supply chain strategies
  • Good understanding of local laws for transport and ability to gather all required information
