    Description

    The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is looking for a Senior Executive to oversee the operations of the Computer Aided Engineering laboratory. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing effective technical and administrative support for laboratory activities, ensuring safety compliance with ISO 45001 standards.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Offer technical and administrative assistance for undergraduate and research tasks.
    • Execute planned teaching activities for laboratory experiments and projects.
    • Manage and maintain computer/workstation hardware for optimal performance.
    • Procure laboratory software, equipment, and supplies following purchasing guidelines.
    • Handle laboratory assets and maintain accurate inventory records.
    • Enforce safety protocols within the laboratory premises.
    • Keep the laboratory space organized and clean.
    • Perform safety risk assessments and create safe work procedures.
    • Maintain and ensure the proper functioning of laboratory equipment.
    • Ensure sufficient resources for the laboratory's teaching and research needs.

    Requirements:

    • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing Engineering.
    • 2-3 years of experience in Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing.
    • 1 year of experience in computer system administration and configuration.
    • Knowledge of machining and mechanical fabrication processes.
    • Familiarity with software like SolidWorks, SolidCAM, Ansys, Autodesk Fusion.
    • Understanding of workplace safety standards including ISO45001.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
    • Ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues.
    • Capable of supporting and guiding students in educational settings.
    • Proactive and customer-focused approach.
