We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an
Associate, Global Trustee and Fiduciary Services.



Principal Responsibilities

  • Take appropriate steps in managing all aspects of a Real Estate Investment Trust ('REIT") fund portfolio, which includes but is not limited to, ensuring that all activities are in compliance with regulations, laws and constitutional documents of the REIT and escalate, as appropriate
  • Deliver professional trustee services to clients while balancing the need to fulfil Trustee's fiduciary obligations. Cultivate and develop strong relationship with senior members of the clients' teams
  • Be available as a contact point for discussion on client issues and serve as a representative for the REITs product and HSBC Institutional Trust Services (Singapore) Limited in its role as trustee
  • Ensuring workflow is effectively managed and conducted within set deadlines, while following agreed procedures
  • Act as a link between the team and Head of Trustee to ensure business is conducted appropriately, ensuring a high standard of client service is provided
  • Manage and guide junior team members where required. Attend to and resolve issues faced by junior team members. Set an example in portfolio management and data maintenance for the junior team members
  • Ensuring that all clients are operating in accordance with all relevant local regulations and as detailed in the schemes documentation
  • Ability to assess and thus assure prompt escalation of issues of compliance or risk
  • Ensuring workflow is effectively managed and conducted within set deadlines
  • Act as a link between the team and Senior Manager to ensure business is conducted appropriately, ensuring a high standard of client service is provided
  • Act as one of the principal point of contact for trustee and fiduciary clients in relation to client queries
  • Familiarisation with, and understanding of, the challenges with payment processing. Assist in REITs operations in particular review of payment process automation and any other ad hoc operational matters
  • Arrange and keep uptodate all client documents and any other REIT information in accordance with the internal procedure
  • Keep up to date on developments in the industry and seek to gain a good understanding on all aspects of REITs' business
  • Liaising with clients, audit and risk and other stakeholders to ensure queries and issues pertaining to the teams' responsibilities are resolved effectively
  • Facilitating open communication with trustee team members and colleagues, both locally and globally, to identify any potential issues /improvements
  • Ability to assess risk, demonstrate ownership and management of issues
Requirements

  • Proven ability to think critically, assess risk, ask the right question and work independently in a fast pace environment
  • Track record of making complex business decisions with authority and dominance, even in times of ambiguity, considering the potential longterm risks and implications
  • Detail oriented with strong ability to analyse complex business issues, multitasking and problem solving capabilities
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in delivery of excellent customer service and proactively looking for ways to improve
  • A good appreciation of the Singapore REIT regulatory environment and detailed knowledge of regulatory developments is an advantage
  • Prior working experiences in real estate investment trust environment, audit or risk management is an advantage
  • Dynamic personality with a cando, goalfocused attitude
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Experience and confidence in dealing with clients at a senior level
  • Demonstrate management and coaching skills
  • Strong team working ability and capable of encouraging ideas and input from team members
  • Clear understanding of importance of effective customer service internally and externally
  • Legal, Real Estate or Accounting qualification preferred
