What the role is

  • The Digital Economy is a key driver of economic growth for Singapore. Along with the economic promise of digitalisation comes domestic and global challenges. International collaborations and establishing governmenttogovernment cooperation that enables interoperability of digital systems and governance frameworks between countries have become ever more important.

You will lead a team of International Relations (IR) officers under the International Group that oversees IMDA's bilateral, regional and multilateral government-to-government engagements to advance IMDA's interests and build strategic partnership and alliances.

You will also be responsible for IMDA's participation in key international organisations such as the International Telecommunications Union and the Asia Pacific Telecommunity.


What you will be working on

  • Formulate and implement engagement strategies to strengthen bilateral partnership with countries of strategic interest to Singapore.
  • Formulate and implement regional and international strategies to safeguard and advance IMDA's strategic interests.
  • Develop a keen understanding of emerging tech issue and the implication of geopolitics to provide robust and sound recommendations on IMDA's international policy positions.
  • Analyse and make recommendations on international policies, issues, and legislations in relation to governments, international organisations and businesses overseas.
  • Participate and contribute to international platforms to advance Singapore's positions in digital economy, emerging technology issues such as AI, IOT and trust tech.
  • Develop international cooperation projects with Government and nonGovernment entities.
  • Develop policy positions and draft text for Digital Economy Agreements and MOUs, in line with IMDA's policy positions and desired outcomes.
  • Engage partners such as industry associations and think tanks to conduct outreach and consultations on digital economy issues.

What we are looking for

  • Have minimum of 8 years of experience in relevant international and/or policy development work.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and understanding of digital economy issues such as crossborder data flows, interoperable digital systems that enables crossborder digital trade and business and AI.
  • Selfdirected, agile, and able to operate in an evolving environment.
  • Strong team player, with the ability to work independently as well across teams and organisations.
  • Have excellent writing, presentation and communication skills.
  • Willing to travel overseas.
