  • The Compliance function is responsible for helping Pictet's senior management manage the compliance risks faced by Pictet. This role will focus on the risks faced by Pictet's Singapore bank, Bank Pictet & Cie (Asia) Ltd (BPCAL).

Your role:


  • The Compliance Officer will be part of the team that will provide regulatory advice to the firm on regulatory changes that would impact the business, working with the business and applicable support functions to ensure that BPCAL is complying with its regulatory obligations. In addition, the Officer is also expected to support the team in performing riskbased compliance testing addressing risks such as client onboarding and periodic review controls, antimoney laundering, investment suitability, cross border, etc.
  • The role will report to the Singapore Head of Compliance.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement an effective regulatory change management framework to ensure proper dissemination of regulatory change, and maintenance of a Key Obligation Register (KOR)
  • Support the Head of Compliance in the management of BPCAL's regulatory relationship, including working with internal stakeholders in addressing and handling regulatory queries and requests
  • Provide advice to business and support functions on compliance and regulatory matters
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures and controls to ensure licensing commitments and obligations are fulfilled
  • Execute required Compliance controls and reporting in Personal Account Dealing (PAD);
  • Execute compliance control testing and thematic reviews on the design and operating effectiveness of key controls across compliance risks (including antimoney laundering, investment suitability, cross border and others);
  • Build and maintain a proactive and constructive relationship with business and functional stakeholders, working with the Head of Compliance to design appropriate controls focusing on risk identification and management.
  • Develop, update as needed Compliance department's policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements and internal group standards, supporting the translation of these requirements into management actions
  • Provide Compliance's input into New Product Services (NPS), ensuring relevant compliance risks on governance and culture, market access, market integrity, financial crime and investor protection are suitably considered.
  • Work with the Head of Compliance to help BPCAL's senior management understand the impact of new regulations and where needed represent BPCAL in industry consultations
  • Work with internal stakeholders in ensure regulatory reports are prepared and submitted on time
  • Escalation of significant compliance or regulatory issues to Risk & Compliance and Senior Management
  • In the event of serious regulatory or compliance risk tolerances breaches, work with stakeholders to ensure the necessary reporting and internal processes occurs are triggered
  • Represent Compliance as needed on projects and initiatives
  • Support the team and Head of Compliance in the resolution of compliance owned management action plans for audits and inspections
  • Produce relevant management information reports to board and senior management on the governance of regulatory risks
  • Any other duties as assigned

Your profile:


  • Bachelor Degree in law, banking or business
  • Working experience of Singapore regulatory landscape and expectations needed. Familiarity with regulations and guidance on Governance, applicable Prudential and Supervisory Requirements, Risk Management Practices and knowledge of the Banking Act, the SFA/FAA, ABS Private Banking Code of Conduct, relevant MAS Regulations and Guidance applicable to a Wholesale Bank would be advantageous
  • At least 6 years' experience in law or regulatory compliance for AVP.
  • Prior experience in a similar role in a Private Bank will be advantageous, as will former regulators or lawyers
  • Highly effective communication (verbal and written) and organizational skills
  • Cerebral, considered whilst operational minded with the ability to think outofthebox
  • Team player, selfmotivated and adaptable
  • Ability to multitask competing priorities while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Critical and strategic thinking, ability to face challenging situations and be assertive as needed
  • Capable of working with cross functional and senior stakeholders.
  • Sense of accountability, good time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
