What the role is

  • As a Safety Officer with the Health, Safety Branch, your responsibilities would include the following:

What you will be working on

  • Review Workplace Safety and Health policies and practices to ensure they are current and appropriate
  • Support and advise the management team on WSH issues
  • Conduct health and safety audits at PUB workplaces including construction sites
  • Conduct accident investigations and recommend corrective measures
  • Provide technical advice and support to departments on WSH issues
  • Provide secretariat support to Safety Committees
  • Monitor/track, analyse department's safety performances and to recommend safety measures where necessary
  • Coordinate, monitor, track and implement the safety recommendations by Health & Safety Branch, various Safety Committees and the Safety Steering Committees
  • Conduct training and coordinate internal training courses relating to WSH
  • Plan and implement regular safety inspections & audit regime in compliance with the required workplace safety standards, regulations and policy
  • Organise WSH Campaign and other promotional activities
  • Prepare/review Safety Plan/Risk Assessment
  • Coordinate and correspond with external agencies, MOM, SCDF, etc. on WSH related issues/matters
  • Prepare Health and Safety Annual Report

What we are looking for

  • General Degree, with preference for engineering, safety and science related degree
  • Valid registration with MOM as a Workplace and Health Officer
