Description
Purpose Statement

  • Ensures reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and controls with an objective to constantly improve site production and cost performance.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Promotes, supports, coordinates and facilitates multidisciplinary, multilevel teamwork (reliability) improvement activities, both reactive and proactive, and assist in implementation and followup of action items

Major Responsibilities:

  • Ensures reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and controls with an objective to constantly improve site production and cost performance.
  • Network with area, site and corporate Reliability resources to leverage learning and support Corporate, Site and Area Mechanical Integrity/Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Assists in the development of improved Reliability strategies/program using with a view of process safety, yields, capacity and uptime performance.
  • Provides technical support in Reliability issues and assists in trouble shooting process or equipment issues. Carryout RCFA for the repeated failures and failures that has an impact to production, quality and safety.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations including capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  • Perform RCM for all critical assets/systems using RCM software and implement the action items generated from RCM.
  • Run online/offline condition monitoring program site wide and predict the failures early.
  • Promotes, supports, coordinates and facilitates multidisciplinary, multilevel teamwork (reliability) improvement activities, both reactive and proactive, and assist in implementation and followup of action items

  • Works with project engineering teams to ensure reliability/ maintainability of new/modified installations.
  • Participates as part of a team to upgrade equipment and processes by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changes.
  • Provides inputs to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliabilityrelated and nonreliabilityrelated risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
  • Perform analysis of asset performance including: Asset utilization, Overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life and capital replacement plans as well as other parameters that define Site MEP KPIs such as availability, maintenance performance, reliability and R&M costs of assets.
  • Ensures individual/team compliance with Abbvie core values and policies, including but not limited to quality and EHS.
  • Familiarize with Maximo and act as a backup support to Maintenance planning/scheduling function as and when needed.
  • Assists Maintenance Manager to evaluate content of maintenance plans in CMMS including methods, maintenance frequencies and spare parts needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned by your Supervisor/Manager
Education

  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering discipline.
Experience

  • Mechanical engineering degree with at least 2 years work experience or a diploma with a minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in pharmaceutical/ biological/ chemical/ oil & gas industries. Fresh graduates are considered at entry level.
  • Technical knowledge coupled with handson experience in maintenance of processing equipment.
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Process Safety Management
- (PSM) and familiarity with Industry principles of reliability/maintenance.


Skills:


  • Comfortable working in a team and matrix environments; high degree of initiative and selfmotivation
  • Scientific approach to solving problems; makes databased decisions.
  • Knowledge of CMMS, Reliability, and proficiency in MS Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
  • Knowledge on vibration analysis, RCM and RBI.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and a "handson" attitude.
  • Six Sigma familiarity and/or certification and cGMP experience are plus
