Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Engineer to join the bank, with a focus on enabling advanced analytics through the adoption of industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies.

As a Lead Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, piloting new technologies for AI/ML model development, adopting cloud technologies, and leveraging BI tools like Denodo, OAS, and Power BI.

Responsibilities:

Architect and Design:Develop robust and scalable data engineering solutions, including data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks, leveraging industry best practices and following a cloud-native approach.

Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate new technologies and tools for data integration, analytics, and visualization, proposing innovative solutions to improve data integration and analysis capabilities.

Advanced Analytics Enablement: Collaborate with data scientists and business analysts to understand advanced analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing data infrastructure.

Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Assess and pilot new technologies, such as AI/ML algorithms, cloud-based services, and BI tools, to enhance data engineering capabilities, optimize data processing performance, and improve data governance.

Cloud Technologies:Design, build, and maintain data engineering solutions using cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, ensuring efficient utilization of cloud resources and adherence to security and compliance standards.

Team Leadership:Lead a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and support in executing data engineering projects, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

Collaboration:Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, data architects, software engineers, and IT delivery, to ensure seamless data flow, optimize data processing, and drive successful project outcomes.

Documentation and Communication: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data models, system architecture diagrams, and process flowcharts. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (> 10 years) in data engineering roles, preferably within the banking or financial industry.
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration frameworks.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, with handson experience in building data engineering solutions in a cloudnative environment.
  • Experience with AI/ML technologies, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model deployment, is highly desirable.
  • Indepth knowledge of BI tools such as Denodo, OAS, Power BI, or similar platforms for data visualization and reporting.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, or Java, with experience in working with large datasets and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical thinking abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving common goals.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
