    Description
    Roles & Responsibilities

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and safety guidelines applicable to energy storage systems (ESS) etc..
    • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety evaluations to identify potential safety hazards and mitigate risks.
    • Develop and implement safety procedures, protocols, and training programs to ensure safe operation and maintenance of ESS components and systems.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety considerations into the design, development, and testing phases of ESS projects.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and external stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals and certifications for example ESS products and installations.
    • Conduct audits, inspections, and reviews to assess compliance with safety standards, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Stay updated on emerging safety technologies, regulations, and best practices in the field of energy storage to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to industry standards.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field. A master's degree or higher may be preferred for more advanced positions.
    • 3+ years of experience with regulatory compliance standards and requirements applicable to ESS, such as UL 9540, UL 1973, IEC 62619, IEC 62133, NFPA 855, NEC, and other relevant codes and standards.
    • 3+ years of experience with safety analysis techniques, such as hazard identification (HAZID), hazard and operability studies (HAZOP), failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), and risk assessment.
    • Familiarity with product certification processes and procedures, including testing, documentation, and submission requirements.
    • Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and chemical principles relevant to energy storage technologies, including batteries, inverters, power electronics, and thermal management systems.
    • Deep understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks, standards, and guidelines governing ESS design, installation, and operation.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, regulatory affairs, quality assurance, and external stakeholders (e.g., regulatory agencies, certification bodies).
    • Being a good team player.

    Preferably:

    · Professional certifications related to compliance, safety, and ESS technology may be beneficial, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Functional Safety Professional (CFSP), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), or relevant industry-specific certifications etc.
