DESCRIPTION

  • Firm Risk Management ("FRM")
  • FRM supports Morgan Stanley in achieving its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient riskadjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, model and other risks.
Background on the Position

  • The role will reside within Firm Risk Management's Chief Operating Officer ("COO") area, which is a team focused on Regulatory Risk and Governance, Climate Risk, Stress Testing, Data Risk Management, Risk Reporting, Operational Controls and Administration responsibilities. This is a regional role primarily responsible for supporting the COO in operational controls and critical Administration areas to ensure that the FRM department can function effectively. This role may also be responsible for supporting other COO functions and adhoc projects. The COO team has dedicated resources and is based across multiple locations in Singapore, Hong Kong & Tokyo and collaborates with the various risk stripes across the FRM department in Asia.
Primary Responsibilities
- >Support the regional lead on outsourcing & operational controls including self-assessment
- >Lead the implementation of information security and business continuity planning
- >Coordinate governance committee presentations and prepare meeting minutes
- >Support critical administrative areas, including the annual budgeting exercise and monitoring of actuals vs budget, headcount management, space & office management, and training
- >Prepare organization related presentations for global senior management
- >Assist in employee communication relating to various policies


QUALIFICATIONS
- >Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- >Minimum 6 years of experience in handling similar responsibilities in a Financial Institution / Bank. Similar experience within the Risk Management function would be an advantage
- >Solid PowerPoint and Excel skills
- >Able to collaborate with teams and stakeholders
- >Able to effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, both in written and verbally
- >Able to tackle new assignments and take initiatives
- >Strong attention to detail and able to distil technical information to produce concise and effective presentations
- >An interest in working in a fast-paced environment, often balancing multiple deliverables
