Main Objective

Pivotal role in the organisation to drive ship system result.
Result improvement on individual trade lanes.
Analyse market feedback, macroeconomic and shipping data for opportunity management.
New product development and implementation/roll out.
Safeguarding marketshare and push for growth.

Function and duties

Responsible for utilizing network capacity and optimizing SSY result for the trade lane Asia
Africa.
Liaise with all Regional Sales and Areas to optimize services and customer requirements.
Short term pricing, guideline maintenance and online product enhancement with an eye on today's vessel utilization.
Steering of cargo by customer and services in line with targeted cargo segmentation.
Responsible for future strategy and product improvements.
Functions also include:
Research and market analysis including regular analysis of market rates and volume
Planning of Hapag-Lloyd transport volume/pricing/contributions for the respective trade lanes in liaison with the respective Regions and Areas
Budget control for the Asia
Africa trade relations with respect to volume and revenue.
Assessment of customer performance against nomination and agreed cargo mix

Requirements:

Bachelors Degree, preferably in Business Administration, Logistics, Transportation, or related discipline
At least 5 years of working experience in the shipping industry, preferably in Trade Management.
Africa knowledge in relation to shipping from Asia, and particular China, is a plus.
Good knowledge of the workflow and processes in the shipping/transportation industry
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, shipping ERP systems and online product development.
