Yara Africa & Asia (YAA) produces, sells, distributes and markets fertilizers and industrial products across Asia Pacific and Africa regions, with offices location and operational units in 20 countries.

The region employs over 1800 employees and has a long history in the Asian Pacific and African markets, focusing on develop crop nutrition concepts that increase food production and create value to the growers, in particular smallholder farmers, whilst minimizing environmental impact of agricultural activities.


YAA is currently undergoing a major transformation, aimed at shifting the existing business models, generating new revenue streams and ultimately delivering profit through new sustainable farming solutions related activities.

A disruptive growth agenda has been put in place to accelerate digital adoption, partnerships and improve sustainability and farmer's livelihoods in the Region.

YAA People Organization plays a vital role in accelerating the capability building and culture transformation to succeed in achieving YAA ambitions.


Profile:


We are seeking an action and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a People Engagement Specialist, who is passionate about supporting the People strategy execution as well as the change management across different key initiatives in YAA by helping employees understand what the regional People strategy and agenda is, how their role and behaviors support it and ultimately building momentum towards the achievement of the goals.


This role will collaborate closely with the YAA Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Compensation & Benefit functions as well as with the YAA Leadership Team.

In addition to multiple stakeholders in the Region, he/she will also have close interactions with the YAA Internal Communication Manager and with the Corporate People branding team to ensure messages are consistent across all mediums and channels.

This position is part of the YAA People Organization and report to the Senior Manager, Culture, Change & DEI, YAA.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop the People Organization communication plan for YAA in partnership with the YAA People Organization leads.
  • Work closely with the YAA People Organization leads as well as with the YAA Leadership Team to identify communication priorities for YAA People Organization.
  • Support roll out of people strategy initiatives (e.g. events, campaigns).
  • Support the People Organization with initiatives relating to the improvement of YAA employees' engagement.
  • Support YAA change management initiatives with communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain the YAA People Pulse Page and collate other key communication / policy / procedure materials, ensuring it reflects the YAA People Strategy and supports the Employee Experience goals across YAA.
  • Measure the impact based on quantitative and qualitative data and adjust execution of the communication plan accordingly.
  • Update the YAA People Organization leads on the progress of change and communication plan execution and flag any risks or changes required.
  • Track and update the People Strategy implementation activities to provide regular communication updates to the leadership team.
  • Advise and support communication / employee engagement needs related to people strategy initiatives by participating in the YAA people strategy discussions.

Additional Information:


  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, strategic communications or equivalent.
  • Minimum 57 years of internal or external communication experience.
  • English proficiency, both orally and in written is a must.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Teams etc. is required.
  • Strong, versatile writing skills is a must.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced, teamoriented, global matrix environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actions and feasible implementation plans.
  • Strong skills for problem solving and root cause identification.
  • Proven experience of supporting the regional strategy execution.
  • Proficiency in creative design by using tools such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle is a plus.
  • Role will interact with a global organization. Incumbent needs to have cultural sensitivity, good communication skills to communicate with individuals where English may not be their first language. This role must possess the skills and proven ability to wo
