The Opportunity:

Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the Business and IT to provide solutions to their business system needs; Understands customers objectives, processes, and products as well as the business systems capabilities to formulate, define, document solutions that are aligned with Zurich APAC's core values.

Perform Scrum Master's duties when required, assist Product Owner in prioritising backlogs and Delivery Lead in delivering results through Agile methodology.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Practise Agile methodology, focus on delivering the highest value as set by Product Owners POs) and business stakeholders in the most efficient fashion.
  • Facilitate business changes and driving continual process and operational improvements.
  • Oversee the overall solution delivery of new technology or new approach and formulate ways for improvement, including managing engagement with technology or service partner.
  • Build a solid relationship with business stakeholders and POs, become a trusted advisor, identify opportunities, explore and define alternative options and make recommendations. Advises and influences the business in decision making.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders and SMEs to elicit requirements using techniques appropriate to each specific situation;
  • Effectively engage stakeholders, manage expectations by providing clear and timely communications, ensure stakeholders are well informed and have no surprises.
  • Conduct system analysis to understand current processes, business rules and system behaviours and provide technical solutions in order to address business requirements and issues;
  • Document "as is" and "to be" states and business requirements in detail while keeping various audience in mind, i.e. business stakeholders, SMEs, developers and testers.
  • Assist with writing user stories based on business requirements
  • Assist developers in documenting system solutions in functional specifications when needed.
  • Organise and facilitate discussions and workshops to present information, examine alternatives, and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Manage BA deliverables such as user stories / process diagrams / functional specs, walkthroughs, Q & A with business stakeholders, developers and testers, signoffs, production handovers as well as supporting SIT, UAT and PVT;
  • Be flexible with work assignments and able to manage multiple priorities under tight timelines;
  • Capture and maintain business domain knowledge, become an SME in one or multiple business / technical domains, help extend the capabilities of the BA practice;
  • Coordinate and facilitate daily Scrum meetings, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives for the team.
  • Promote a collaborative team environment that fosters creativity and innovation.
  • Facilitate communication and resolving disagreements, as well as identifying and removing blockers.
  • Protect the team from overcommitting and scope creep. Aid in estimation and sub task creation.
  • Collaborate with the PO to ensure effective backlog management.
  • Provide regular reporting to Delivery Lead / PO to understand what gets built and at what cadence.
  • Provide visibility of team status and issues to senior management.
  • Coordinate and schedule the execution of deliverables across multiple teams.
  • Mentor team members on Scrum practices.
  • Assist Release Managers and Change Managers to enable successful releases.

Your skills and experience:


  • Having a good knowledge of General Insurance (GI) principles.
  • Experience in GI retail market or affinity business model is preferable.
  • 3+ years of handson experience in the delivery of Business Analysis artefacts (eg asis analysis, use case, process design, functional specification, UAT, etc.) on business and IT change projects, preferably in the Financial Services sector
  • Experience working with external and internal stakeholders from technical to business roles.
  • Proven experience managing and delivering services in complex, fast paced environments where ambiguity or contention in support requirements is often present.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of SQL. Experience working with relational databases will be valued.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business or Information Technology is highly desirable.

Skills:


  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban etc.
  • Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of continuous Integration and delivery pipelines.
  • Ability to work asynchronously with a geographically dispersed team
