I have also led projects focused on long-term energy efficiency and mentored technicians to enhance their troubleshooting capabilities.
Driven by a passion for innovative solutions, I have successfully transitioned between technical roles and research projects, consistently striving to improve systems and processes. My goal is to apply my extensive expertise in HVAC and energy systems to deliver value in challenging environments, all while ensuring efficiency and reliability.
Experience
I have over 10 years of experience in the HVAC and sustainability sectors, specializing in system design, maintenance, and project management for commercial and marine buildings. Currently, as a Research Engineer at the National University of Singapore, I collaborate on energy optimization projects, analyzing data and applying advanced modeling techniques to improve HVAC efficiency by up to 20%. My work also focuses on energy audits, fault detection, and achieving sustainability goals for green building certifications.
Previously, I worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at JL Marine & Engineering, where I developed HVAC designs for marine vessels, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 7547 and ASHRAE. I also held a position as a Technical Officer at Wesmech Engineering (ST Engineering), managing ACMV systems and leading teams to maintain system performance and troubleshoot issues. My early career includes roles as a Mechanical Engineer at Astrum & Daikin and a Project Engineer at VK Building Service Pvt Ltd, where I gained hands-on experience in HVAC system design, installation, and project execution. These experiences have honed my ability to manage complex projects, drive energy efficiency initiatives, and lead cross-functional teams.
Education
I hold a Master’s degree in Building Performance and Sustainability from the National University of Singapore, where I gained advanced knowledge in energy-efficient building systems, HVAC optimization, and sustainable design practices. This program has greatly enhanced my expertise in energy modeling and environmental strategies, complementing my passion for green building practices. Additionally, I earned an MBA in Project Management from Alagappa University, which provided me with essential business and management skills to effectively lead and manage projects in the energy and sustainability sector. Furthermore, I hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Anna University, forming a solid foundation in engineering principles and systems design. These educational experiences have collectively equipped me with the technical, analytical, and managerial skills required to excel in my career in energy-efficient building design and management.
