About Cindy Chia:
I am currently enrolled as a first-year Psychology student at the University at Buffalo, where I am pursuing my passion for understanding the underlying factors that drive human behavior and providing assistance to those in need. With a strong educational foundation and valuable hands-on experience, I am eagar about establishing a fulfilling career in the field of social services.
While my academic journey is still in its early stages, I have already gained valuable insights and practical skills through my working experiences. Previously, I held a full-time position as a therapy assistant at a community hospital, where I offered valuable support to patients undergoing therapy. This experience enhanced my active listening skills, nurtured empathy within me, and allowed me to foster a nurturing environment. Additionally, I had the privilege of interning as a community assistant in a hospital, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the well-being of patients and their families.
As I continue my education and gain further experience, I am actively seeking opportunities that will allow me to expand my skill set and make meaningful contributions to the field. I am open to internships and volunteer work that will enable me to learn from experienced professionals and gain a deeper understanding of the social services landscape. I am eager to collaborate with like-minded individuals, share ideas, and work towards creating sustainable change in our communities.
Experience
In my most recent employment, I served as a Therapy Assistant at Singhealth Community Hospital on a full-time basis for a duration of two years. Within this role, I substantially expanded my expertise in geriatric care and honed my ability to comprehend and address the specific needs of elderly individuals.
Education
During my time at Polytechnic, I pursued an education in healthcare service management, and at present, I am actively working towards attaining a degree in psychology at SIM.
