Golda Chan

I grew up in Canada, completing my elementary school and high school there. Having had a great desire build a strong English foundation for students in Hong Kong, my place of origin, I moved to Hong Kong to complete my undergraduate degree in English and Education. Thereafter, I began my six-year teaching career in secondary schools there before recently moving to Singapore to marry my Singaporean husband and start a new life here. I am hoping to contribute to the education sector in this new place I call home. 

In Hong Kong, I gained a broad range of experiences from working as a native-speaking English teacher in a local Catholic girls’ school and teaching English at an elite boys’ school, co-ed schools, a devoted Christian school, and low banding practicum schools during my studies at the University of Hong Kong. These include time management under tight deadlines, understanding of various curriculums and modes of teaching, classroom management of students with a vast range of personalities, abilities and cultural backgrounds, and collaboration with colleagues to enhance students’ learning.

I studied Bachelor of Arts and Education in Language Education (English) at the University of Hong Kong.
