About Jen Teck Tan:

What I bring to the job is my wealth of Banking retail sales and people management with a proven track record. I am a big fan of change in a positive way, and do not mind getting my hands dirty so that my team can learn and build good camaraderie along the way. Strong team always translates to even stronger results.

For results and performance management, I am very passionate about designing full end-to-end sales and conversion funnels (both digital sales or manned channel sales), with a focus in surfacing levers that optimize the funnel and identifying e.g. key media gaps (if any), process improvement from working together with stakeholders and process owners, product gap improvement or sales training and management to improve productivity.

For stakeholder management, I usually lean towards building great relationships across stakeholders, leverage collaboration to deliver best in class results.

HSBC Singapore — Lead, Digital Channel

AUG 2014 - PRESENT

Joined HSBC, tasked to increase Digital sales contribution for unsecured products. Over the years, have significantly increased the share of digital sales to a major channel of the business.

During my time, I have overseen and taken part in projects to launch STP journeys for credit cards, personal loans and deposits products such as savings and premier accounts.

Overtime, I have made many changes to product pages with datas, optimization tests, SEO studies to keep up with the ever changing customer navigational behavior and the migration from desktop to the all-important mobile interface. 

I depend heavily on data and end-to-end funnel, surfacing key levers for all products so that I can better engage all stakeholders that have a stake in the business to optimize and move key levers.

Tasked to manage RHB Easy branches in the southern regions. Managed over 40 branches, 3 Regional Managers and transformed southern region from one of the worse performing regions to top region in 7 months.

RHB Bank, Malaysia — Regional Head, Central

MAR 2013 - JAN 2014

Managed the largest RHB Easy Branch Banking network, The Central Region, with over 60 Easy Banking branches. Under my leadership, there were 4 Regional Managers, 60 Easy Branch Managers, and 600 sales and operation staffs.

During my time, I’ve won 2013, Champion in the Regional Head Category for Non-credit related product (insurance sales and deposits accounts), and came off Champion, in Regional Head Category for Credit related products (investment loans and personal loans).

RHB Bank, Malaysia — Regional Manager, Central

FEB 2009 - FEB 2013

Started of my career as Regional Manager for the Central Region, Tesco Easy Banking Branches before being promoted to Head Central Region 4 years later.

Moved from Digital Sales Management to Network Branch Banking Sales environment for the first time in search to add different skills set into my sales management interest.

During the 4 years, I helped pioneered the new Easy by RHB Branch Banking network to penetrate more location where banks cannot reach, providing people with easy access of 365 days banking convenience, and we were the first bank in Malaysia that provided instant approval of both personal loans and investment loans with instant disbursement capability.

As the concept of the business was entirely new, I have helped setup all the initial medium and micro Easy Branches, from 1st to 100th branches in the our first year. Help in mass recruitment drive and have identified huge amount of talent who many of them eventually turned out to be conner stones of the business.
