Kavitha Nair

My name is Kavitha and I write to explore report/senior reporter opportunity with your company. 

I am an experienced all-round media professional with a proven track record in business reporting. After taking an extended career break to take care of my son, I returned to world of media. 

I moved to Singapore from London three years back - since coming here I freelanced with an European agency to write case studies for their biggest IT/SaaS client.  I also freelanced for the UK-based Raconteur (the publishing house that brings out weekly business reports distributed with The Times and The Sunday Times) writing on technology and the business of Technology.

I am currently a senior reporter with Deal Street Asia a Singapore-headquartered media company that covers the private capital industry (private equity, venture capital, M&A, listings) and the business of startups across Asia. I have been writing on asset managers, pension fund and private equity. In my short stint here I have interviewed industry captains  and written in-dept stories.

Prior to this, I have spent over a decade generating news reports and news analyses in the Information Technology sector and conducted interviews with various industry captains and experts from all over the world contributing to publications in India, UK and the US.

In India, I interviewed, crafted and assisted in a Business Process Outsourcing report for National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM), India’s apex body for Information Technology industry and authored a report on Innovation for the multinational technology and consulting company International Business Machine (IBM) India and written for financial publications like the Indian Express Group and Business standard. 

In the UK, I did some freelance writing for technology and outsourcing publications in the UK and US like CIO UK,Outsource, Datamation and Raconteur (published reports for The Times).
