An enthusiastic and motivational Chinese teacher with more than 3 years of teaching experience

I arouse my students’ learning interest, improve their language skills and help them obtain good grades, all while striving to respect their individuality and provide differentiated instruction.

After graduating from Hong Kong Baptist University in the summer of 2017, I worked as a Social Media Specialist at Rain Medical Service Limited, a cross-border medical company in Hong Kong. I organized various product promotion activities and created a number of copywriting, which greatly improved my interpersonal skills and Chinese writing ability. Also, during my tenure at the above-mentioned company, I worked as an Event Assistant on another project of my boss: a job fair called “Innovating Hong Kong - Global Talent Carnival”. I recruited and managed 150 volunteers at the job fair to assist exhibitors in distributing job information and answering questions from participants.

I started working as a part-time language teacher in 2018, and became a full-time Chinese teacher in 2020. I have taught more than 100 students with different levels of Chinese. I customize personalized learning plans for students according to their personalities and learning goals. Students always comment that I am "a professional and patient teacher".

After coming to Singapore in 2022, in addition to teaching Chinese and French to students in Hong Kong on zoom and Skype, I also taught Chinese to foreigners at LTL Language School in Singapore. What's more, I served as an Intern Chinese Teacher at Hua Chong International School in the summer of 2022. I deeply understand the IB education system as well as the classroom activities in an international school. 

I studied French for four years at Hong Kong Baptist University during my undergraduate studies, and my French level reached CEFR C1. This learning experience not only brought me methods of learning a second language effectively and enabled me to empathize with Chinese learners. 

In order to acquire professional knowledge and skills in teaching Chinese as a second language, I came to Singapore last year to pursue a master's degree in Teaching Chinese as An International Language in National Institute of Education. I have taken a number of courses with an emphasis on practical pedagogy, such as the application of information technology in the classroom of an international school, as well as the design of course materials.
