A versatile and tenacious Marine Engineer -First Class (Motor), and a Ship Management Professional with 30 years total experience at sea and ashore, in Gas (including LPG/LEG/LNG), VLCC, Chemical and Oil & Product Tankers/ Dry bulk/ and OBO technical operations.

Extensive exposure to Technological developments, Marine Risk Management, Quality Assurance, Safety Culture enhancement, and Process control.

Formative Experience:

Sailed for 11 years in various capacities from 5th Engineer to Chief Engineer, gaining hands-on experience on various type of ships, ranging from General cargo, Bulk vessels to specialized tankers including Chemical, Product, VLCC, fuel carriers as well as OBOs.

Developmental experience:

Having worked for both, ship owners and 3rd party managers through the 19 years period, 

helped me develop an overall perspective on ship management, and understand asset maintenance while balancing budgetary constraints, good management, implementing good working practices and setting up and following a robust safety management and operating culture. 

Due to the exposure and involvement over the last 19 years I have gained experience in managing LNG/LEG/LPG, Chemical Tankers (coated and SUS), Product carriers, VLCC, OBO and Bulk and container vessels as well as a Super yacht.

Projects and Logistics experience

During my tenure with Norgas, worked on the conceptualization and establishment of logistic chains including, LNG container barging calculations, calculation of turn around times, calculation of barge capacities needed and development of land-based LNG receiving facilities and interfaces with SSLNG vessels. 

This included a land-based truck loading chain of operation for a Powerplant Re-gas station in Ghana.

Recent experience in expanding the Technical Know-how to shore based gas installations interrelated with marine services helped me develop a wider technical and commercial perspective.

Been in leadership roles since 2015.

Always believed in leading by example. I have handled teams up to a strength of 112 personnel and spread out in 4 countries. Additionally, also handled multinational and multi-cultural personnel spread out in offices as far flung as Africa, Russia, China, Philippines, and India while being based in Singapore.

The leadership aspect was put to test when the JV between Norgas and OSM was split overnight and on a bad note. I managed to take charge of the Ship Management team and re-establish all vetting approvals and ensured no vessels were off hired/stopped and business continued as usual.
