I am interested in the clinical, healthcare, counselling sector and hope to gain more practical experience and skillsets. I have experience working in special needs, rehabilitation care, psychological research in various settings. 

 

Experience

1. Shadow Support / Therapist Aide, Total Communication Therapy             Aug 2022 – Nov 2022

  • Supported clients with Autism and Intellectual Disability
  • Conducted center-based sessions and provided support in school.
  • Developed lesson plans and created materials and activities tailored to individual needs.

 

2. Researcher, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS & NUH                       May 2021 – Aug 2021

  • Worked on a variety of research projects focused on the healthcare sector, e.g., assessing the quality of life among colorectal cancer patients, patient’s use of telemedicine, etc. 
  • Engaged in meaningful interactions with seniors and supported them 
  • Co-authored a systematic review 
    • Investigated the psychosocial impact of patients’ AMI on spouses.

 

3. Research Assistant, National Institute of Education (NIE)                            Feb 2020 – Aug 2020

  • Worked on a research project aimed at developing a psycholinguistic battery that assesses language proficiency of bilinguals among young children in Singapore.
  • Cleaned & analyzed research data obtained.

 

4. Family Care Officer, Gladiolus Place                                                                 Jul 2019 – Aug 2019

  • Facilitated residential and rehabilitation care to 14 teenage girls (of Beyond Parental Control, abuse cases etc.).
  • Supervised girls and coordinated programs to ensure holistic development.

 

5. Intern, Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)                                       Sep 2018 – Nov 2018

  • Created a 44-page handbook FRESH+ with the ICA Psychological Services (IPS) to promote psychological resilience and well-being in ICA officers.
  • Conducted research to examine fatigue and lowered vigilance among ICA officers, and generated 6 countermeasures.
