Hi I am Rishita Kankaria. I am a twenty year old spatial designer who graduated from Lasalle College of the Arts, Singapore in April 2023 with B.A. (Hons.) in Interior Design.

I believe in creating spaces which are human centric, being a confident and spirited designer I am not afraid to push boundaries. I want to use the learning to create experiences rather than just rooms. I believe for a space to be successful it is essential for people to carry the essence of a space with them throughout their life.

I would like to now pursue a challenging career which helps in enhancing my knowledge and experience and utilize my creativity and skills towards the growth of the organization. 

Completing multiple internships is a great way to gain practical experience and skills that are valuable in the workplace. Each internship provided with a unique opportunity to work with different clients, projects, and teams, which helped me to broaden my skillset and develop a deeper understanding of the industry.

In addition to managing client schedules and demands within a budget, I have also gained experience in conducting site visits and surveys, producing design concepts and presentations, and producing construction drawings and specifications. I have also had the opportunity to work with various materials, finishes, and furniture selections, which helped me to understand the aesthetic, functional, and budgetary considerations of different design choices.

My internships may have also helped me to develop your problem-solving and critical thinking skills. I have encountered various challenges and obstacles throughout your internships and learned how to address them effectively, either independently or as part of a team.

Finally, completing multiple internships demonstrates my motivation and dedication to my career development. Employers appreciate candidates who are committed to learning and growing in their field, and my experience completing internships highlights my willingness to take on new challenges and develop new skills.

Overall, my experience completing multiple internships has provided me with a strong foundation of skills and experience that will be invaluable as I pursue my career as an interior designer. It is important to continue to build on this foundation by seeking out new learning opportunities and staying up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the industry.

I attended Lasalle College of the Arts where I pursued a degree in Interior Design. Throughout my studies, I gained experience in various design tools and software such as Adobe Photoshop, AutoCAD, 3dsMax, and Enscape. I completed multiple design projects which included furniture renders and hand sketching, allowing me to develop a human-centric approach to design. One of my proudest accomplishments was my final year project where I designed a Student City based in Singapore, which taught me a lot about human behavior and their requirements. Overall, my educational experience at Lasalle College of the Arts provided me with a strong foundation of skills and knowledge in interior design.
