Wang Yushuo

Greetings! I’m Wang Yushuo, a dedicated and innovative professional in the field of the built environment, with a strong foundation in Project and Facilities Management, graduating with the highest distinction. Currently undertaking a Master of Science by Research at NUS, my academic pursuit focuses on Robot-Assisted Building 3D Reconstruction. My coursework in my Master's and Bachelor's degrees has spanned from Managing Complex Projects, Contract Management, Construction Law, Quantity Surveying, and Infrastructure Planning, equipping me with a forward-thinking approach to managing intricate developments in this sector.

Professionally, my roles have ranged from a Lab Assistant at the NUS Centre of 5G Digital Building Technology, where I honed my procurement and contractor management skills, to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor Intern at Eco-Energy Private Limited, where I delved deep into sustainable construction practices and project budgeting. These experiences have been instrumental in developing my adeptness in contract administration and my appreciation for innovative design solutions, as evidenced by my leadership in winning the International BIM Competition. 

My commitment to my field extends beyond professional responsibilities, as reflected in my contribution to establishing the NUS Cross Country Night Runners Club as the founding member and Team Manager, successfully steering it to become one of the largest clubs in NUS. Through this experience, I have developed strong communication and interpersonal skills, allowing me to effectively collaborate with club members, colleagues, stakeholders, and the general public. I have also contributed scholarly insights as a co-author of a research article focused on automated 3D reconstruction in construction, underlining my dedication to advancing industry knowledge.

  NUS Centre of 5G Digital Building Technology (C5GDBT) / Lab Assistant                                  Nov 2022 – Current

• Spearheaded the procurement process of Invitation to Quote (ITQ) for advanced lab equipment, including the purchase of an Ouster Rev 7 LiDAR and the maintenance of the Unitree Go1 Quadruped Robot, ensuring optimal resource allocation and budget adherence.

• Fostered strong relationships with at least 16 vendors and suppliers from M1, China Mobile, CBM Pte Ltd, Kajima Corporation, and Hikvision to manage the maintenance and warranty for existing lab equipment, guaranteeing operational efficiency.

• Represented the NUS C5GDBT to present the research developments to esteemed guests such as Minister Josephine Teo in outreach events including the NUS 5G Learning Festival, UWS STEM Festival, and NUS College of Design and Engineering Open House 2023, to enhance the institution's community engagement and outreach.

Eco-Energy Private Limited / Quantity Surveyor Intern                                                       May 2021 – Aug 2021

• Engaged in the procurement and coordination of subcontractors for critical building works, including interior finishings and solar panel installations, contributing to project success through effective contractor management.

• Conducted detailed quantity take-offs for structural elements for the Residential Net Zero Energy Building (NZEB) project at Chee Hoon Avenue, demonstrating proficiency in project estimation and budgeting.

• Performed an in-depth analysis of building energy consumption for the Residential NZEB project, proposing strategic measures to optimize energy generation and consumption in alignment with Greenmark evaluation criteria.

  ST Engineering Aerospace / Design Assistant Intern                                                                       Mar 2018 – Aug 2018

• Drafted, designed, and assembled structural components for the A320 Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) program while employing advanced CAD tools like CATIA for efficient design and assembly.

• Managed the critical drawings of the approved aircraft component and assembly designs using the data management software Windchill to organise and safeguard the confidential design materials, ensuring the success of the P2F program.

• Initiated and authored a comprehensive Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) manual, significantly improving the onboarding process for new interns and streamlining training in aircraft component design.
