WenQi Ng

Wen Qi is drawn to architecture for its multidisciplinary nature; she is inspired by the everyday and believes that a thirst for knowledge and learning - both within and beyond the design space - builds towards her creative endeavours as an architectural designer. 
 

Her award-winning graduating thesis was inspired by her stint in California, where an appreciation for California’s natural landscape and a summer course on ecology has led her to focus her final year study on the topic of wildfire resilience, where she explored the relationship between resilience, architectural design and the natural environment. 

Wen Qi’s education and experiences have led her to develop a passion for sustainable design, where she believes in architecture’s impact on future proofing the relationship between nature and our built environment.

ONG&ONG Pte Ltd, Architectural Designer 2021 - 2023 

• Involved in the concept development to final design of transport infrastructure projects ranging from the Sentosa People Mover System to Cross Island Line MRT Stations

 • Teaching Assistant in ONG&ONG’s Architect-in-Residence programme with Singapore University of Technology & Design (SUTD) where she was involved in the research & planning of the SUTD’s architecture option studio curriculum

WOHA Architects, Intern 2019 - 2020

 • Assisted in the production of competition drawings, graphics, tender documentation, visitor experience design, interior design, and correspondence with material suppliers

 • Involvement in various projects and ongoing competition schemes ranging from residential (condominium) to sporting stadium

ARUP, Intern (City Planning Team) 2018

 • Participated in the Singapore North-South Corridor project and worked on the production of renders, sections, concept diagrams, and report drafting

JTC, Intern (Architecture & Land Planning Department) 2016

 • Involved in a series of green coverage data studies of various industrial areas in Singapore

• Master of Architecture, Recipient of the Singapore Board of Architecture Award given to the top student of the graduating class

 • Thesis research on wildfire architecture in California - a project which explores the vision of adaptive resilience and a continually transformative built environment as a model for future wildfire resilient communities
