Xin Yi Ang

I am currently a Business Management undergraduate studying at SIM-RMIT due to graduate next year. Over the years, I have accumulated a lot of soft skills in my time at USS for the casual role of Guest Services Officer, from picking up communication skills and being adept at solving guest issues and any enquiries they may have. It was also necessary for me to be able to flexible and adaptive as I worked there due to the many situations that could crop up from time to time. This experience on its own, has made me realise my passion lay in interaction. Although my time there has been great, but I am looking forward to venturing into HR work but in the mean time as I am still studying, my focus is mainly on learning and exploring different sectors of the business world linked to my passion of having meaningful interactions with others.

My work experience consisted of part-time or casual positions that I took up during my breaks from school or whilst waiting for my school applications to be accepted. This included working as a retail associate in as early as 2016 and various other positions as a food and beverage front counter staff and a packer in a warehouse. The most notable experiences I had was during my 6 month internship at Trust Maritime, where I did administrative work and also worked in their crewing department. Additionally, my years at Universal Studios Singapore as a casual Guest Services Officer from the year of 2019 to now was very fruitful and also where I had gained the most experience in the working world. Lastly, my most recent work experience is currently at EA Organisation where I am assisting in some administrative tasks and doing HR work, sifting through candidates and conducting interviews with them before shortlisting and sending a list of candidates suitable for another round of interview with the hiring manager.

Currently, I am a Business Management undergraduate at SIM-RMIT whereby my graduation is due next year in 2024. Previously I obtained a Diploma in Maritime Business from Singapore Polytechnic from the years of 2017-2019.
