Experience
With over ten years of experience in the social service industry, I have honed my skills in counselling, case management, and stakeholder engagement. In my most recent role as an Assistant Manager at Epworth Community Services, I led the development and delivery of social service programs for children and youth. I provided trauma-informed counselling interventions and collaborated with government agencies and community partners to identify community needs and service gaps. Additionally, I provided supervision and guidance to social service practitioners to support their professional development.
As a Senior Counsellor at Epworth Community Services, I led the Positive Parenting Program group work and provided specialist advice and consultative support on providing therapeutic care. I also collaborated with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create individualized education plans and support strategies for students with disabilities.
In terms of the required skills and educational qualifications, I have a Bachelor's degree from a reputed university and over five years of direct client service experience. I possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a high level of empathy and EQ to understand and solve problems creatively. My attention to detail is almost superhuman, and I am proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
Education
Completed a Professional Certificate/NiTEC in Special Certificate in Children and Youth Counselling from the ACC School of Counseling and Psychology in Singapore. I have also completed a Master of Professional Counselling from the University of Malay and a Bachelor of Education (Hons) in Counselling and Guidance from the University Tun Abdul Razak.
